On the Bench: Daemonic Herald

Last week I wrote a brief entry about the nature of the eldar and whether or not the other chaos gods could claim an eldar soul. While pondering this question, I decided to sketch out a model and try to create an eldar who had become "influenced" by chaos.

The above model is my attempt to merge some of the imagery of the Emerald Eye with the eldar range. The model is mostly finished with just a little more work needed on the cloak. At this point though, I struggle with whether or not I have created an eldar who has become influenced by chaos or an interesting striking scorpion conversion.

  1. I could see that as a corrupted Striking Scorpion with the Biting Blade/Scorpion Claw. The Claw beats up infantry, and the Blade cuts up everything else. You've got a big claw, and a big stabbing tool...so it could work out.

I recognize the Daemonette arm and head, but where did you get the legs from?

  2. Hi, definitely still something eldar. I would see it as a Banshee- an armoured daemonette so to say.

The legs are Hormagant arms if i am not mistaken and are verry fitting if I might say so.

  3. That is a very dynamic pose. The cast of the face suggests a demonic influence.

  4. No wait- they are not Hormagants, they are goblin spider thingies- right?

  5. I don't know exactly what it could be. Maybe a Dark Eldar Grotesque?

  6. Thanks for all of the feedback. The legs are off the goblin spiders. The upcoming Down n Dirty tournament includes a conversion contest, so I wanted to convert something for it.
