Soul Wars Painting Competition

Due to the huge success of the last painting contest, I have decided to launch another one in celebration of the release of Soul Wars. The rules for this one are pretty simple, but everyone entering needs to follow them if participating. There will be a small prize for the winner of the contest. 

RULES - PLEASE READ!

1. Paint one model from the new Age of Sigmar Soul Wars boxset. Model must be from the boxset, but it can have conversion work done to it. No exceptions or substitutions will be allowed for this one. 
2. To enter the contest, you need to purchase a Games Workshop product from either Leisure Hours Hobbies and Games or Paper and Plastic Games between June 30th and July 6th. You will be required to share a copy of the receipt that shows what was purchased and from where to be eligible.* 
3. You will need to submit 2 photos of your entry. Photo number one needs to be the new model without paint on it. The other needs to be a picture of the finished.** 
4.  Receipt and photos must be emailed to unstabledice@gmail.com. Entries submitted in any other fashion will not be included in the contest. 
5. Entries may not be shared on social media until after the contest is completed (July 26th is the end date for the contest). 
6. All entries must be submitted by Monday, July 16th, 2018. Voting will begin on July 18th and end on July 21st. The winner will be announced on July 26th via various media channels. The prize for the winning entry will be announced at the same time as the winner of the contest. 
7. The winner will be chosen via a combination of voting on the website and judge’s votes. 
8. The Unstable Dice reserves the rights to modify any rules related to the contest. The prize for the contest will be determined by the number of entries and availability. The Unstable Dice reserves the right to reject or ban any entry from the contest. 

*Neither store is a sponsor or associated with this contest. The requirement is to foster local support for Age of Sigmar and the local community. Please make sure to remove any confidential information on the receipt before submitting.

**Only one file for each photo is allowed. However, you can combine images into a single file for the finished entry if you would like to show multiple angles. Be Creative!

Overview

Build a piece of terrain that could count as a bastion and incorporate pieces of junk that we need example photos for into your entry.

The Prize

The winner of terrain building contest #2 will receive as their prize, one (1) complete imperial bastion!

The Rules
1. You must be a follower of Terrain from Junk (hereafter referred to as TfJ)
2. The deadline for contest submissions is July 31st, 2010.
3. Send all submissions to terrainfromjunk@yahoo.com
4. The piece of terrain must be suitably large to be considered a bastion!
5. You must use a piece of junk listed on TfJ, choose from this list.
6. The final submission must be fully painted and based.
7. You must submit a completed (painted/based) photo with a piece of paper that says "Terrain from Junk".
8. The winner will be determined by poll results and bonus points.

Bonus points available (5);
(0-2) using extra pieces of junk from the above list.
(0-3) providing photos of junk in a similar fashion to what's found in TfJ posts (with miniatures for scale)

9. Voting will be open for seven days.

Retro Blog: Birth of Legends

A few years ago, I ran an event called Birth of Legends. The idea of the event was to allow each player to build a special character using any HQ choice as the base and purchase wargear, abilities, etc. from any current codex. The characters were then placed into a gladiator pit and fought to the death. There were some very cool conversions and ideas that came out of the event. As I find more old pictures, I will add them to this blog entry.

The Rules

1. You must be a follower of http://GWpertinent.blogspot.com
2. Miniature MUST be manufactured by Marauder/Chronicle/Citadel/Games Workshop/Iron Claw.
3. Miniature MUST be painted (minimum 3 colours).
4. 40K miniatures only for this contest (I'm thinking to do a seperate contest for various games) Anything from the 40K universe is acceptable (ie. Necromunda/(Advanced) Space Crusade/Space Hulk/Ultramarines/etc.).
5. Photograph must have a piece of paper with "GWpertinent" written on it (to confirm photo is yours).
6. You can submit as many photos as you like, but only one will count towards the contest, if you post multiple photos first photo posted will be assumed to be your contest entry.
7. The contest is open to anyone in the world.
8. Post your photo link as a comment to this post by August 8th.
9. On August 9th, I will use Random.org to determine the winner and post all submitted photos.

TRoE Presents: Planetstrike

A new style of warfare arrives in July with Planetstrike. If you have been following the rumors, Planetstrike is going to allow the player who is the attacker to take up to six elite choices in their army. 6-10:

- 2nd Prize: 1 $25 or less GW Product of Choice.*
11-20:
- 1st Prize: Special Prize
- 2nd Prize: 1 $50 or less GW Product of Choice.*
- 3rd Prize: 1 $25 or less GW Product of Choice.*
21+:
- 1st Prize: Special Prize
- 2nd Prize: 1 $100 or less GW Product of Choice.*
- 3rd Prize: 1 $50 or less GW Product of Choice.*
- 4th Prize: 1 $25 or less GW Product of Choice.*

*: No Direct Only Items or Collectors Range.

Rules for entries.

Regiment:
- Regiment is defined as any unit of models which may include: Infantry, Cavalry, Monsters or Chariots so long as they are in unit formations. Vehicle Squadrons which are comprised of Tanks are not considered Regiments though none tanks are considered such as Ork Buggies or Eldar Warwalkers.
- Entries on 20mm or 25mm Square or Small Round Bases must be at least minimum unit size per their respective Armybook or Codex; or 10+ models whichever is more.
- Entries on 25x50mm & 40mm Square or Medium Round Bases must be at least minimum unit size per their respective Armybook or Codex; or 5+ Models whichever is more.
- Entries on 50mm Square and large or Large Round Bases must be at least minimum unit size per their respective Armybook or Codex; or 3+ Models whichever is more.

Lets Get the word out on this one guys! I would be glad to have to fork out almost 200 bucks for prizes if it meant a good amount of competition!
