Episode 10 - Piss Off Ghost!
In this episode, Chuck and I are joined by Lucias Meyer. Nighthaunt player and host of the now retired Battleshock podcast. We start the show off with introducing our guest and talking about the metrics that were shared by the Honest Wargamer this week.
Next, we breakdown our top 3 Nighthaunt warscrolls. A few surprises and a good analysis of some of the units we think make for a good Nighthaunt list. Lucias even shares some of his experiences with a couple units not on the list.
We wrap up the show with another 5 Questions. This week's questions are all Nighthaunt themed, so expect a few ghostly surprises.

Most importantly, we remind ourselves and everyone that GW will fix the problems in a timely fashion.
In the second segment of the show, we review the Myrmourn Banshee warscroll. We talk about why the new unit is great and a couple tricks we would use with them. Chuck also works the math to see how many I can fit into a 1000 point army and still be legal.

Episode 03 - Maxing Out the Credit Cards
It is time once again to grab an axe, strap on a shield, and pull up your pants.
The Unstable Dice Podcast is back with another episode. This week's episode kicks off with Chuck seeking ideas on how to replace the head on one of his models. The conversation quickly turns into us discussing what we have pre-ordered for second edition. We also talk a little about GW's strategy for the release and some of the cool things they have been doing with second edition.
In the second segment of the show, we breakdown the leaked Nighthaunts matched play points. We discuss some of things the list tells us about the future release and some of the things I am planning with my army. I also practice saying Grimghast Reapers quite a few times.
The show ends with America's Favorite segment of the show, Five Questions. This week's list is a mix of predictions, limitations, and maybe a little sadness. At least we wont get the stink eye from our spouses this week.

On the Bench: Necron Cryptek
Welcome to 2018 and a return to me posting on my blog. To kick-off the new year, I have decided to dip my toes back into Warhammer 40K and see if I am interested in returning to the game after taking a leave of it a few years back. Since I am a deep-end of the pool type of person, my return to the game will be in the form of playing in a small tournament this coming weekend. Since the game has radically changed since last I have played, I decided I needed to do a bit of updating to my very old necron force if I was going to bring it out of retirement. To this end, I decided to start the revamp by adding a fully painted Necron Cryptek.
When it came to officially adding a cryptek to my army, I had the option of either going with one of the Finecast models or creating my own using various bits laying about the Kaiju Lounge (aka my hobby room). While I like some of the existing models, in particular Illuminor Szeras, I decided to start by just converting one and see where I am with things after a few games.
The conversion I settled on was a combination of parts from the Immortals/Deathmarks and Lychguard/Praetorians kits. Specifically, I used the head and upper body off the Deathmarks kit and the legs and weapon from the Praetorians kit. When it came to assembling the model, I elected to put together the whole body and prime it and the head separately. Once everything was primed, I painted the inside of the "hood" and the back of the head. Once those parts were painted, I assembled the complete model and finished painting it.
With the model painted, I need to now decide on a new basing scheme for my necrons as I would like to update the army a bit just to make it feel a little less dated. I also need to build a first round display board that will be used until I have time to create a better one to go with the updated army.
